Urgent HBS Tweet Calls for Voluntary Reporting of any Person from Assam who Attended Nizamuddin Congregation

GUWAHATI: State health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked all people from Assam who might have recently attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, to immediately voluntarily report themselves to the nearest government hospital. His tweet read: 

Urgent Request
If there is anyone from Assam who attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, please IMMEDIATELY report voluntarily to the nearest government hospital or by calling Helpline no # 104. 
Please treat this as very important.

He said they could also call the helpline 104 to report themselves. 

It is to be mentioned that Delhi’s Nizamuddin basti area showed a hike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases. The Delhi police also cordoned off the area on Monday, March 30, as per reports. 

A religious congregation was held here where over 1500 people from across the country and Asia had come to take part. It is believed that some people contracted the virus here. 

Further, 24 people who had attended the event have tested positive for coronavirus and one person has died, as per reports.
