Ulubari, Ganeshguri & Other Markets To Be Completed By 2024

 

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal during a meeting on July 16 directed the completion of multi-storied market houses in Hengrabari, Ganeshguri, Ulubari, and Beltola within the current year and urged the allocation of these to small traders.

The meeting which was also attended by Guwahati Mayor, Mrigen Sarania and top officials of the GMC also reviewed the progress of housing for safai karamcharis, swachh survekshan, waste collection management, and the land acquisition status for the waste treatment plant in Boragaon.

Additionally, a committee comprising the Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Commissioner of the GMC, and the District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) was constituted to recommend suitable land for daily waste dumping. Discussions with the GMDA also took place which focused on the mining of Silsako Beel and the construction of small parks within the city, along with a review of ongoing schemes under the Authority.
