UIDAI Generates 5 Lakh Aadhaar Cards Out Of 9.35 Lakh NRC Blocked Cases In Assam

GUWAHATI: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will release biometrics for 9.35 lakh National Register of Citizens Biometric Enrolment (NRC-BME) blocked cases in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday, September 16.

So far, 5 lakh Aadhaar cards have been generated, with 12,000 to 13,000 cards set to be dispatched to Tinsukia on September 23 on a pilot basis.

He further states that for status updates, citizens can check the FAQs on UIDAI's website, call the helpline at 1947, or contact them via email at helpdesk.roghy@uidai.net.in or by calling 0361-2221819.

The Assam government on August 28 announced the unlocking of biometrics for 9.35 lakh residents, whose Aadhaar cards were blocked due to NRC issues.

Taking to social handle X, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “UIDAI is releasing biometrics for 9.35 lakh NRC-BME blocked cases of Assam. So far, 5 lakh Aadhaar cards have been generated! For status updates, check the FAQs on UIDAI’s website or call their helpline at 1947. Citizens can also contact UIDAI through email at helpdesk.roghy@uidai.net.in or call 0361-2221819.
