GUWAHATI: Padma Shri Award winner Uddhab Bharali has been conferred the D. Sc. (honoris causa) by the Dibrugarh University in recognition of his invaluable scholarly contribution to the field of science, innovation and social welfare through the works of innovation and invention.
The degree will be conferred on him on Monday, March 18 during the XVIII convocation of the university by its vice-chancellor in presence of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu.
Uddhab Bharali, often known as the King of innovation, hails from Lakhimpur district in Assam. He recently became the first person from the district to be honoured with the Padmashree, India's fourth highest civilian honour.
