Two Injured Rescue Team Members Rewarded For Bravery While Rescuing Leopard

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Zoo's Rescue Team received the reward for their commitment during a recent operation to rescue a distressed wild leopard in GS Colony, Fatasil, Ambari.

On December 19, 2023, while capturing the leopard, two members of the rescue team sustained injuries. Promptly, both individuals were transported to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for immediate medical attention, where they are currently recovering.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife & Chief Wildlife Warden, Assam, has announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for each member of the rescue team who displayed exceptional courage during the rescue mission.
