Two Arrested For Attempting to Sell Tiger Tooth In Assam’s Baksa

 

GUWAHATI: The Manas Forest Department has reportedly arrested two individuals in the Baksa district near Manas National Park for attempting to sell tiger teeth illegally. The suspects were apprehended in Bodo Bazaar while allegedly negotiating the sale, as per reports on Tuesday, March 18.

The accused have been identified as Firoz Narzari (40) from Kumguri and Minister Basumatary (26) from Bongaon, as per reports. Acting on a tip-off, forest officials launched an operation and caught the duo at a tea shop in the market area, where they were reportedly trying to sell four tiger teeth.

Authorities also reportedly confiscated a scooter and two mobile phones, suspected to be linked to their illegal activities.

Both individuals are currently in custody, as investigations continue
