GUWAHATI: The Basistha Police arrested two people on charges of physically and sexually assaulting a woman in Guwahati on Tuesday, October 11. The two arrested have been identified as Jiarul Islam of Boko and Zulfikar from Nagarbera.
The twenty-five-year-old woman managed to escape and lodged an FIR at the Basistha Police Station.
Talking to G Plus, Officer-in-Charge, Basistha Police Station said, “The victim hails from Dhubri District and she was invited by the two accused to Guwahati on the promise of providing her a job. Upon reaching Guwahati on October 10, the victim met the two accused who took her to a house near Dreamland Amusement Park in Khanapara. The victim was physically and sexually assaulted by the two accused.”
