GUWAHATI: The price of turkey has reached the high price of ₹5000 at Ulubari’s Uruka market in Guwahati on Monday, January 13. On the occasion of Uruka, fishes of average 10-15 kilograms are also seen to be in high demand. Shopkeepers are reporting high demand, as people prepare for the Magh Bihu celebrations.

Speaking to GPlus, a shopkeeper from Ulubari market stated, "Turkey is a rare item in Guwahati's market. The price for a turkey is ₹5,000, and the cost per kilogram varies depending on the quantity purchased."
As Uruka night approaches, residents of Guwahati are busy stocking up for feasts and festivities, with the market bustling as families prepare for the traditional celebration.
