GUWAHATI: Three elephants lost their lives today morning after coming into contact with a high-voltage electricity line on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The unfortunate event occurred at Panichanda in Rani Tea Estate, situated in the Kamrup rural district of Assam, falling under the jurisdiction of the Rani Forest Office.

According to preliminary reports, the wild tuskers had ventured out of the forest in search of food when they encountered the lethal electricity line, resulting in their electrocution.
Local residents were quick to inform the authorities of the incident, prompting officials from the Rani Forest Division to rush to the location to investigate the incident and assess the situation.
