Traffic Restrictions For Durga Idol Immersion Announced In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: The city police have issued a notice regarding the traffic restrictions that will be enforced during the Durga Puja idol immersion in Guwahati on October 24, 2023.

Commencing from 12 noon on October 24, 2023, these restrictions will persist until the completion of the immersion process. There will be restrictions on movement of vehicles as all vehicles, with the exception of those transporting idols, arriving from the

Chandmari side towards Jalukbari will not be permitted to access MC Road. Instead, they will be diverted via BRP Road, GNB Road, TC Point, and RBI Point to the Panbazar over bridge. These vehicles will then make a left turn and proceed to AT Road for their respective destinations.

•    Vehicles, excluding those transporting idols, will not be allowed to make a right turn at the District Library point from GNB Road to KLB Road.

•    Vehicles arriving from Jalukbari, Bharalumukh towards Chandmari, Dispur will be regulated at Apollo point on MG Road and rerouted via TRP Road, then to HB Road or AT Road. These vehicles will proceed either to KLB Road via HB Road (towards Chandmari, Noonmati, and Geetanagar) or to AT Road (towards Dispur and Khanapara).

•    Vehicles from Uzanbazar, Kharghuli, and Noonmati will be regulated and diverted via Tayabullah Road and GNB Road.

•    TRP Road and HB Road will be one-way roads from Apollo Point.

•    Idol-carrying vehicles from Chandmari will be regulated at TC Point and rerouted via MC Road, FC Road, and MG Road.

•    Vehicles carrying idols from different areas will follow specific routes, including Tokobari, Paltanbazar, Ulubari, Rehabari, Birubari, Chatribari, Bishnupur, and Lalganesh.

•    Vehicles carrying idols from Kumarpara, Athgaon, and Fatasil will follow a designated route to Kachomarighat.

•    Idol-carrying vehicles from Rajgarh, Bhangagarh, and Christianbasti will have designated routes to reach their destination.

•    From Ganeshguri, Dispur, and Kahilipara: Vehicles carrying idols from these areas will follow prescribed routes.

•    B. Baruah Road Restriction: No idol-carrying vehicles will be allowed on B. Baruah Road from Ulubari to TC Point.

•    Bharalumukh and Fatasil: Vehicles carrying idols from Bharalumukh and Fatasil areas will have their routes regulated.

•    For the Pandu Port immersion on Dashami Day, Idol-carrying vehicles will not be permitted to enter from Maligaon Chariali towards Pandu.

•    Vehicles transporting idols will follow a specific route towards Pandu Port immersion ghat.

•    After immersion, the vehicles will be allowed to proceed only via Sadilapur 6 no. colony towards Jalukbari from Pandu.
