Traffic Restrictions Announced For Guwahati Marathon 2025 On February 9

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Marathon 2025 is set to take place on February 9, beginning at 5:00 AM from Sarusajai Sports Complex. The marathon route will stretch along NH-27, from the Basistha Flyover (Khanapara side) to the Garchuk Flyover (Jalukbari side). In light of the event, the authorities have announced traffic regulations to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.

The following are the traffic restrictions from 3:00 AM on February 9:

 

-Vehicles moving from Khanapara towards Jalukbari will continue on their normal carriageway along NH-27.

 

-Vehicles using the service lane from Khanapara to Jalukbari will be diverted at Beharbari Flyover (opposite Brahmaputra Bazar) onto the main carriageway of NH-27.

 

-Vehicles travelling from Jalukbari towards Khanapara will follow their normal route on NH-27 until Gorchuk Flyover, after which they will be diverted via the Service Road.

 

-This diversion will remain in effect until Lokhra Chariali under-bridge, where vehicles will be rerouted towards Khanapara via the service lane on the southern side, opposite Sarusajai Sports Complex, up to Beharbari Flyover under-bridge.

 

-From Beharbari Flyover under-bridge, vehicles will be re-directed onto the northern-side service lane, leading towards Khanapara.

 

-The diversion will continue until the end of Basistha Flyover, where vehicles will return to their normal course on NH-27.

 

-No parking will be allowed on the service roads on both sides of NH-27 from Gorchuk to Koinadhora.

 

-Vehicles will be strictly prohibited from travelling in the opposite direction on the service lanes.

 

-Emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders will be exempt from these restrictions.
