GUWAHATI: A major traffic snarl paralysed commuters in the Six Mile area on Wednesday, January 10, causing significant disruptions and delays. The standstill, lasting for over an hour, affected regular traffic flow, including emergency services like ambulances, leaving people stranded.
Traffic regulations were enforced in certain areas of Guwahati for the road show featuring JP Nadda, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The event was scheduled to take place on January 10, starting at 1:50 PM, following a route from Koinadhara to Kalakshetra.
Speaking to GPlus, a traffic police official in the Six Mile area said, "The traffic congestion is a result of a government programme held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, leading to the influx of numerous buses. We are actively working to address the situation and facilitate the smooth movement of these buses who came for the event."
