GUWAHATI: Titabar town in Assam under Jorhat District has bought laurels to the state by becoming Assam's first ‘zero waste town’ by revolutionizing management of solid waste.
According to a report in Assam Tribune, the small town, Titabar- as part of its consistent campaign, has set up a material recovery facility where all organic waste is managed through aerobic composting.
The move of door-to-door collection, some primary and some tertiary segregation, has resulted in reduction in foul odor and greenhouse gas emission from the dumpsite.
