GUWAHATI: An Indian tiger named 'Johnny' has travelled almost 300 km from Maharashtra's Nanded to Telangara's Utnoor to find a mate, according to media reports.

The tiger's journey reportedly began in the third week of October when he was initially spotted in the forests of Boath mandal in Adilabad, after which he moved through Kuntala, Sarangapur, Mamada and Pembi mandals in Nirmal district before entering Utnoor.
The tiger later crossed the Hyderabad-Nagpur NH-44 highway and is now reportedly heading towards the Tiryani area in Telangana, media reports stated. "Male tigers often embark on such long journeys during winter, which is the mating season, in search of a mate when they cannot find one in their territory," a forest officer from Adilabad district told media.
