In a complaint, the couple’s son, Kartikesh, stated that he suspected his mother of being involved in the murder due to her long-standing mental health condition. He also named his sister, Kruthi, citing frequent disputes within the family. He claimed that both his mother and sister had been suffering from depression and often argued with his father.

According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand, Om Prakash's body was discovered in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to the stomach and neck. The police were alerted to the incident around 4.30 pm.

According to reports, Pallavi frequently voiced fears about her husband, alleging that he had threatened her with a firearm on several occasions. She was said to exhibit delusional behaviour, with recurring anxiety triggered by imagined threats.

Both Pallavi and Kruthi were taken into custody for questioning on Sunday. Police said preliminary investigation indicated the use of a sharp weapon in the killing and suggested that the motive may have stemmed from internal family conflict.
