Three Indian Players Named In ICC Test Team Of The Year 2024

GUWAHATI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced its Test Team of the Year for 2024, with three Indian players earning a place in the lineup. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and Yashasvi Jaiswal were all recognised for their performances.

Australia’s Pat Cummins, the Test captain and pace bowler, will lead the squad, making him the sole Australian representative. The team also features four England players and two from New Zealand, including batter Kane Williamson.

Bumrah’s 32 wickets in the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) during India’s recent tour of Australia earned him the ‘Player of the Series’ award. Jaiswal shone as India’s top scorer in the series, amassing 391 runs, including a century and two half-centuries. Jadeja made valuable contributions with both bat and ball, scoring 135 runs and taking four wickets in the BGT.

The full ICC Test Team of the Year 2024 is as follows: Pat Cummins (c) (Australia), Yashasvi Jaiswal (India), Ben Duckett (England), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Joe Root (England), Harry Brook (England), Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka), Jamie Smith (wk) (England), Ravindra Jadeja (India), Matt Henry (New Zealand), and Jasprit Bumrah (India).
