GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced plans to drastically improve connectivity across the state through the development of three high-speed corridors. The initiative aims to link key regions of Assam with the capital city, Guwahati, enabling faster, more efficient travel and economic integration.

The three proposed corridors are:
-Srirampur to Guwahati
-Guwahati to Silchar
-Guwahati to Dibrugarh
Taking to X Sarma confirmed that the Guwahati–Silchar corridor via Borapani is on track to become a reality soon. Meanwhile, groundwork has already begun on the Guwahati–Dibrugarh corridor, marking a significant step forward in the state's infrastructure development.
CM said, "My dream is to ensure that both Silchar and Dibrugarh can be reached from Guwahati within six hours."
The proposed corridors are expected to significantly reduce travel time, enhance regional trade, and contribute to the socio-economic upliftment of Assam’s diverse regions.
