Three Assamese FIlms Selected For Screening At IFFI Indian Panorama 2024

GUWAHATI: Three Assamese films have been selected for screening at the prestigious 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held from November 20th to 28th, 2024.

Among the 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films chosen, Juiphool, Rador Pakhi, and Swargarath were selected to represent the Assamese language.

Directed by Jadumoni Dutta, Juiphol stands as a testament to the storytelling traditions of Assam, weaving a narrative that reflects the region’s rich culture and heritage.

The second Assamese film, Rador Pakhi, directed by Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah, also promises to captivate audiences with its unique cinematic appeal. 

The third film, Swargarath by Rajesh Bhuyan, focuses on a mortuary van driver, three college students, and two police officers who find a bag full of money. The film reportedly raked in 2.36 Cr worldwide.

The IFFI, set to be held in Goa, is organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
