GUWAHATI: Three government officials were arrested after they were caught red-handed while allegedly accepting bribes in separate operations across Assam on Friday, as stated by a senior police official to the media.
Surendra Kumar, the Additional DGP of Vigilance, said that the officials had asked for money to process the documents of the three people who had complained to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
In the first case, a "lat mandal" from Nagaon's Koliabar revenue circle was caught while taking a bribe from the complainant to process and give permission to sell land, Kumar wrote on Twitter.

In another case, a senior assistant at the office of the Registrar, Cooperative Society, was arrested in Guwahati when he was allegedly taking money to process a pension-related file.

The senior officer said that a block elementary education officer in the Goalpara district's Matia block was caught taking a bribe to sign documents for a bank loan.
