GUWAHATI: Tezpur University has made a significant mark on the global stage with its faculty members' cutting-edge research in several key areas.
Notably, the university's work in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, Energy, Polymers, Otorhinolaryngology, Optoelectronics and Photonics has garnered international recognition, with its faculty members featured in Elsevier's prestigious lists of the top 2 per cent scientists worldwide.
The faculty members who have achieved this remarkable recognition are Prof. Dhruba K Bhattacharyya, Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah, Shyamal Kumar Das, Prof. Niranjan Karak, Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, and Prof. Partha Pratim Sahu.
Elsevier, a globally renowned Publishing and Information Analytics Company, compiled these lists in both 2022 and 2023 through an independent study.
The selection process involved assessing publicly available databases of top-cited scientists, evaluating criteria such as citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score).
Scientists were classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields following the standard Science-Metrix classification.
