GUWAHATI: Guwahati City Police have successfully conducted simultaneous raids on three secret hideouts of the notorious Teer gambling racket in the areas of Fancy Bazar, Noonmati, and Patharquarry, resulting in the apprehension of five bookies and the confiscation of substantial evidence on Tuesday, reports stated.
During the raids, law enforcement authorities seized a significant amount of incriminating material. A total of ₹36,364 in cash, six mobile phones, Teer books, and various other documents linking the bookies to the illicit gambling activities were confiscated.
Guwahati police took to Twitter to put out, “City Police conducted raids in 3 hideouts of Teer gambling at Fancybazaar, Noonmati & Patharquarry. 5 bookies were arrested & ₹36,364 in cash, 6 mobile phones, Teer books & other incriminating documents were seized.”

The five bookies arrested during the raids are now in police custody and will reportedly face charges related to gambling offences.
