GUWAHATI: The Basistha Police Station under East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), conducted a raid and seized suspected heroin along with apprehending two alleged drug peddlers in Bhetapara on November 30.
The suspected individuals have been identified as Anuj Bora aged 30 from Noonmati, and Mahidul Rahman aged 29 from Hatigaon. Both were caught in possession of 53 vials of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 75 grams.
Guwahati Police took to X to put out, “An EGPD team from Basistha PS arrested 2 peddlers - Anuj Bora (30) of Noonmati & Mahidul Rahman (29) of Hatigaon - after they were caught with 53 vials of suspected heroin, weighing 75 gms, at Namghar Path in Bhetapara. Legal action initiated.”

The arrest took place at Namghar Path in Bhetapara, where the team, led by officers from Basistha Police Station, acted to intercept the alleged peddlers.
Both suspects are now in police custody, and legal action has been initiated against them. Further details are awaited.
