Supreme Court Advocate files complaint against Papon

Runa Bhuyan, Advocate, who gave her address as 14, Lawyers Chamber (Old), Supreme Court of India has filed a complaint to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, against renowned singer of Assam, Angarag Papon Mahanta for his 'inappropriate' act of showing affection to a minor girl.

The complaint reads that the content of the video where Papon was seen planting a kiss on an adolescent girl child, who is a contestant of the show Voice of India Kids, contains 'objectionable' content.

Runa Bhuyan, in the complaint said, "I am shocked to see the behaviour of the said singer Angarag Papon Mahanta towards a minor girl where he is seen to be applying colors on  a minor girl and inapprpriately kissing the said girl. On seeing the video, I am seriously concerned regarding the safety and security of minor girl participating in reality shows across India."

Speaking to G Plus, Miguel Das Queah, Founder and Chairman of UTSAH, said, "Regardless of affection or no affection, I request male celebrities to refrain from pulling the cheeks and kissing the faces of adolescent girl children (especially of children who are not your own). One should understand that just because children cannot express their emotions, one should not take full advantage of it. In fact, girl children do not like to be touched. If you were to do the same to an adult, an FIR would've come your way. So please hold your love and affection, which can very well be expressed without laying your hands and mouth on girl children."
