Sujoy Lal Thaosen From Assam Takes Charge As New DG CRPF

 

GUWAHATI: Sujoy Lal Thaosen from Assam has been appointed as the 37th Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and has taken charge on Monday, October 3. Thaosen is a 1988 batch IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre who hails from the Dima Hasao District of Assam.

Prior to his appointment as CRPF chief, he was holding the post of DG of Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and an additional charge of DG Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Thaosen will hold the post of DG CRPF until his superannuation or until further orders. During his tenure, Thaosen has served in the Special Protection Group (SPG), and International Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) to name a few.

CRPF is India’s largest central armed police force that is responsible for the country’s internal security. The force is deployed in the red corridor, election duty, counter insurgency, UN missions etc.
