GUWAHATI: Despite B. Borooah College's prestigious NAAC A++ accreditation, students have raised serious concerns about the poor hygiene of the college toilets, which they claim are almost unusable due to lack of cleanliness and maintenance.

Talking to GPlus, a second-semester student said, “The toilets are extremely unhygienic. The lack of cleanliness has made them unfit for use, affecting students' health and dignity. We have repeatedly informed the authorities, but no action has been taken.”

Another student from the college talking to GPlus said,  “The condition has been terrible for days, yet no one pays attention to it.”

However, a senior college official, while acknowledging the complaints, attributed the issue to student behaviour. “The toilets are cleaned periodically. We have five sweepers who clean them, but some students misuse the facilities, making them dirty again. The cleaning happens in the morning, but by the second half of the day, the condition worsens.”
