Student’s Day To Be Celebrated On March 31 From 2023 Onwards In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: In honour of the contribution of one of the tallest Bodo leaders Bodofa Upendranath Brahma, the Assam Government on Tuesday, September 6, announced that March 31 will be observed as Chatra Divas or Students’ Day from 2023 onwards.

Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma, during his visit to the Kokrajhar district, has said that the Assam Government will take initiatives and make arrangements to celebrate March 31 as Chatra Divas every year from 2023 onwards. 

“In honour of the contribution of Bodofa towards socio-economic & cultural empowerment of Bodo community, our Govt has decided to observe his birthday on March 31 every year as Chatra Divas.

BTC Chief @PramodBoroBTR, Cabinet colleagues, MLAs, BTC EMs & members too were present.” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

The announcement was made while the CM visited the burial ground of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma at Thulungapuri in Dotoma and also laid the foundation stone for infrastructural developments of the burial ground there, which is estimated to cost Rs 10 crore.
