Student of Gauhati University harassed in Shatabdi Express, 2 held

GUWAHATI: A student of Gauhati University was allegedly harassed by two employees of a catering company inside the Guwahati-Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express when the train was running between Sivasagar and Dibrugarh.

The two employees of the catering company identified as Md Sakir and Md Aftab were found to be in an inebriated state. They harassed the victim and her mother by repeatedly asking them to order their meals, despite the victim's refusal.

The women filed a complaint with the railway police upon reaching Dibrugarh following which both the accused were arrested.

It is to be mentioned that the Northeast Frontier Railway officials said that the accused duo are not railway staff but rather engaged with a private firm, M/s Krishna Enterprises, which is engaged in supplying meals inside the train.
