State farmers to be given identity cards

Atul Bora, State Agricultural Minister, announced during the Assembly that for the first time the farmers of Assam would be provided with identity cards, to ensure that the farmers get benefited from the Govt funded schemes. Bora further said that the newly formed State Government had already introduced soil health cards and those were being distributed to the farmers. Emphasizing upon the issue, the Minister said that the BJP Government will do its best to accelerate the quality and quantity of every sector. On another note, Bora also informed that the State has also exported 79,248.59 quintal rice to its neighboring States during 2015-16.
