GUWAHATI: In a bid to mitigate inconvenience for stranded passengers amidst cancellation and diversions, a special train service has been arranged to operate between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati from March 7 to 19, 2024.
In light of the upcoming Pre-Non-Interlocking and Non-Interlocking works at Baihata, as well as Non-Interlocking works at Changsari, coupled with the CRS inspection for the commissioning of a double line between Baihata and Changsari under the Rangiya division, significant disruptions to train services are anticipated.

As a result, 24 trains are slated for cancellation, while 26 trains will be diverted via Kamakhya, Goalpara Town, and New Bongaigaon, with the vice versa route also affected. Additionally, 12 trains will operate on a partially cancelled basis between Guwahati and Rangiya, and vice versa.
Passengers intending to travel during this period are strongly urged to verify the status of their trains through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before embarking on their journey. The special train, numbered 05869, will depart from New Bongaigaon at 13:45 hours, reaching Guwahati at 18:10 hours.

Conversely, train number 05870 will depart from Guwahati at 19:00 hours, returning to New Bongaigaon at 23:30 hours. The special train will make stops at all stations along the route to accommodate passengers.
