GUWAHATI: The re-verification process for 5,704 contractual teacher candidates that were on hold have been completed by the Assam government.

This has been undertaken as a part of the Special Recruitment Drive.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu announced on Monday, September 9, that 5,620 applications have been cleared, including 766 from the Sixth Schedule areas.
He further informed that appointment letters are available for download from the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) website starting at 2:00 PM on September 9.
Candidates from the Sixth Schedule areas will receive their letters directly from Council Authorities.
However, 22 appointment letters are still pending, and 62 applications have been rejected due to duplicity.
