GUWAHATI: Focusing on solar energy, Finance Minster Nirmala Sitharaman announced to support about one crore households under the rooftop solarisation scheme, which will provide them up to 300 units of free electricity per month.
As per the Finance Ministry, through this initiative, the households will save up to ₹15,000 - ₹18,000 annually and sell the surplus to distribution agencies.
She further announced that there will be a drive to change the electric vehicle charging ecosystem, by creating entrepreneurship opportunities for a large number of vendors for the supply and installation of these EV chargers.
This initiative will provide youth with technical skills who will be involved in the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of solar panels, EV chargers, and necessary equipment to earn decent earning.
The EV ecosystem is also expected to contribute significantly to the country's economic growth. As the automotive industry undergoes a paradigm shift towards sustainable solutions, the charging infrastructure becomes a crucial component, with an extensive network enhancing the appeal of electric vehicles.
