Singapore Becomes First Country To Partner With Assam For Advantage Assam 2.0

GUWAHATI: Singapore has become the first country to forge ties with Assam for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, to be held on February 25-26. This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday, January 7.

“We are grateful to Singapore for being the first Partner Country of #AdvantageAssam2,” Sarma posted on X. “We cherish the country's long standing support for our developmental aspirations.”

During an ongoing meeting in New Delhi, Sarma met ambassadors and trade representatives from over 37 countries earlier in the day. He highlighted Assam’s strategic importance as the Gateway to Southeast Asia in this meeting, and held the state as a key component of India’s Act East Policy.

The chief minister further  spoke about the state’s investment potential in emerging sectors and invited global stakeholders to the summit.

In the run-up to Advantage Assam 2.0, Sarma had already conducted a roadshow in Mumbai on Monday, January 6, to attract investments in technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure for the state.
