GUWAHATI: The police have arrested Sumeru Nath, a senior education coordinator, for allegedly masterminding a major drug trafficking network in Sribhumi erstwhile Karimganj, on November 21.

Nath, who served as the coordinator under an educational scheme was implicated following a significant drug seizure in Badarpur on November 6.
Talking to GPlus, Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das said, “The initial incident occured in September but we nabbed him yesterday, on November 21.”
According to information, four others involved in the trafficking have also been arrested.
Nath had been orchestrating drug trafficking activities for a considerable period, all while holding a key position in the education department.
Investigations are now underway.
