GUWAHATI: Senior Assam Congress leader and former MLA, Goutam Roy has sent his resignation letter to Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, Ripun Bora and quit the party.
Based on reports, Roy has met with Assam BJP president, Ranjeet Kumar Dass and said that he will join BJP very soon.
It should be noted that just this week, Rajya Sabha MP, Bhubaneshwar Kalita resigned from the party as well to protest the party’s stand on revoking Article 370 and joined BJP on August 9.
