GUWAHATI: Guwahati is gearing up to host the IPL 2025 matches featuring Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings. To ensure a smoother flow, the Assam government is ensuring seamless execution of the event.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Secretary of Assam held a crucial meeting with the Special Secretary to the Department of Sports & Youth Welfare to assess the city's preparedness.
The discussions focused on ensuring robust security arrangements, including player safety, crowd control, and traffic management, along with a comprehensive security plan for the matches.
Infrastructure readiness was also a key priority, with officials reviewing road repairs, water supply, team reception, street lighting, and signage.
Additionally, sanitation measures such as fogging, waste management, bio-toilets, and access to safe drinking water were emphasised to maintain hygiene standards.
To prevent any disruptions, authorities are trying to ensure an uninterrupted power supply with backup teams on standby. Medical preparedness was another crucial aspect, with plans in place to station medical teams and coordinate with hospitals for emergency response.
