GUWAHATI: In an inhuman incident, a security personnel of a government hospital was arrested on charges of stealing gold ornaments from a deceased patient in Jorhat.
According to reports, the security guard at Jorhat Mission Hospital took away gold earrings from a woman who was admitted in the hospital on February 20 in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, doctors on duty declared her dead later in the night and taking advantage of the situation, the guard stole the pair of earrings while the body was kept in the morgue for the kin to collect.
As soon as the family members came to know about the missing ornaments, they informed the hospital authorities and later lodged an FIR.
The police retrieved the footage of the CCTV cameras and arrested the accused guard identified as David who was hired from a private firm- Trishul Security Agency.
