Second Phase Of Colour-Coding Introduced For Guwahati City Buses

GUWAHATI: As part of the second phase of the colour-coding initiative for city bus routes in Guwahati, new route-specific colour schemes have been introduced. This decision follows Resolution 3 of the RTA Board meeting held on November 18. All bus operators, including those managed by the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), have been instructed to implement the colour-coding scheme on or before December 15.

The updated system assigns distinct top and bottom stripe colours to buses based on their designated routes. Buses operating on Route 35 between Chandrapur and Dharapur will feature an aqua top stripe and a blue bottom stripe, while those on Route 37, connecting Basistha Mandir to Dharapur, will display orange and blue stripes, respectively. Similarly, Route 3, which runs between Notboma and Dharapur, will have yellow and blue stripes. Routes with checkered patterns have also been included, like Route 32/13, which connects ISBT to Paltan Bazar will display a checkered black-and-white top stripe and a checkered red-and-white bottom stripe.

ASTC buses will adopt rectangular stickers measuring 1.5 feet in length and 1 foot in breadth to ensure consistency and better visibility . These stickers will be prominently displayed at the front, back, and sides of each bus.
