GUWAHATI: Vivek Path Cultural Committee, located in Basistha, is gearing up for its fifth year of Kali Puja celebrations with a unique 'Pathshala' (school)-themed pandal.
The committee, consisting of over 25 members, with 15 actively involved in the creative process, has taken a distinctive approach to this year's celebration.
Speaking to GPlus, a member from the Vivek Path Cultural Committee said, "Our Kali Puja pandal theme for this year revolves around 'Pathshala' or school, with a black and white theme aimed at promoting children's academic aspirations."
The committee's inspiration for this theme stems from the concern that many children in the area do not attend school and lack encouragement to pursue their education.
To address this issue, the committee has created slates adorned with embossed alphabets in English, Hindi, Bengali, and Assamese. The slates also feature various paintings and poems written in white font.
"Our main aim is to captivate children's attention and inspire them to engage with education when they visit the pandal," a member of the committee told GPlus.
This pandal comes with a budget of ₹1.5 lakh, showcasing the committee's commitment to both cultural celebrations and community education initiatives.
