SBI to waive loans of 23 CRPF personnel killed in Pulwama Attacks

GUWAHATI: The State Bank of India (SBI) announced that it would waive off loans which were taken by 23 CRPF personnel killed in the Pulwama attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in which more than 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

In a press release, the bank stated that the CRPF personnel were under the Defence Salary Package in which the bank provides insurance of Rs 30 lakhs to each defence personnel.

The bank is also planning to release the insurance money to the next of kin of the martyred soldiers.

SBI has also started a dedicated portal to raise funds for the family of the martyrs and has urged its employees to contribute for the same.
