GUWAHATI: In an incident reported in the city, a sales executive from Guwahati named Dipankar Dutta was brutally attacked by four armed robbers near the Ulubari Flyover.
According to the victim, he was returning from Guwahati Railway Station in an autorickshaw when the attackers, armed with a revolver and iron rod followed him and tried to stop him near the Ulubari flyover.
When Dutta refused to stop, the miscreants threatened him by showing him the gun. After that, the attackers hit him on the head with an iron rod that made him unconscious and robbed him of Rs. 8000 and his other belongings.
Following that, the attackers fled after they were spotted by a police patrol. Sources at Paltan Bazaar PS informed G Plus that one scooty was caught the officials while the robbers managed to get away.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Paltan Bazaar Police station under case section 392. Currently, the case is under investigation and the hunt for the miscreants is on.
