The incident reportedly took place when the coupling of the S4 sleeper coach suddenly broke, causing the train to split into two separate parts. The train departed from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Junction's Platform No. 1 at around 9:30 PM on Monday, as per reports. However, after covering a distance of just six kilometer from the station, the train reportedly separated mid-journey.

Following the incident, both detached sections of the train were reportedly brought back to Platforms 7 and 8 at DDU Junction. Passengers in the affected coach were shifted to other compartments to ensure their safety. After necessary repairs and reattachment of the separated sections, the train was cleared for departure at approximately 1:00 AM.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the coupling failure in the incident.
