“Dear Drug Peddlers, sorry to break your wild party plans as we got ₹7 crore of your drugs seized early morning!” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X. “We will always keep spoiling your party plans.”

In the first operation, police recovered 50,000 Yaba tablets and arrested one person in the Puwamara area. Later, in a second operation in Longai, 5,800 more tablets were seized, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

Authorities suspect the drugs were being trafficked as part of a larger network.

Yaba tablets, often referred to as the ‘crazy drug,’ contain methamphetamine and caffeine and are banned in India due to their highly addictive nature.
