GUWAHATI: Silchar Police seized 415 grams of heroin, valued at ₹2.2 crore, along with ₹2 lakh in cash during a source-based operation at Silcoorie Road, Sildubi. Two individuals were apprehended in connection with the case, though their identities have not been disclosed.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Assam Police on social media platform X for their efforts in tackling drug trafficking. He described the seizure as part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on illegal narcotics. Further investigations are underway.
In a separate operation, Cachar Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) recently seized 10,000 YABA tablets worth ₹3 crore near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Leverputa, Katigorah.
