₹135 Crore Allotted To Construct 10 Cancer Care Hospitals Across Assam

 

GUWAHATI: In a boost to cancer care in the state, the Assam Cabinet has approved the allocation of ₹135 crore to the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF).

These funds are designated for the construction of three additional cancer care hospitals in the first phase and seven more hospitals in the second phase of the Assam Cancer Care Project.

Under the first phase, the three remaining cancer care hospitals will be established in Silchar, Guwahati, and Diphu.

In the second phase, seven new cancer hospitals are set to be built in Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Golaghat, Nagaon, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia.

These projects are expected to have a transformative impact, not only on healthcare but also on the local economy.

Upon completion, it is anticipated that approximately 8,000 employment opportunities will be generated, with 4,000 jobs created directly.

This initiative is a vital step towards improving cancer care facilities in Assam and enhancing healthcare services for the people of the state.
