GUWAHATI: One person lost his life, while three others sustained injuries, in a road accident involving a passenger vehicle, a pedestrian and a scooter in Assam’s Dhekiajuli on Thursday, November 21.
The incident occurred in the Narayanpur area on National Highway 15.
The passenger vehicle swerved off its path, hitting a pedestrian before colliding with an oncoming scooter. “The vehicle veered off the road, striking a pedestrian leading to his death and then crashed into a scooter, leaving its two pillions injured,” confirmed an official from Dhekiajuli police station speaking to GPlus.
The deceased pedestrian was identified as Sagar Das, aged 30. The two individuals injured on the scooter were Pritam Nath, 22, and Poli Devi, 25, both of whom were critically hurt and rushed to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) for treatment.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, Kriti Deka, also sustained injuries in the mishap.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
