Residential Football Academy Launched In Meghalaya

GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma took to his Twitter to state that he has launched the ‘Dare To Dream Football Academy’- A residential football academy which is understood to be a joint initiative of BB Football Schools & the Dream Foundation.

This was done in association with the Indian football legend Baichung Bhutia, Officials of the Dream Foundation, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the SAI Training Centre in NEHU.

“Launched the Dare to Dream Academy, a Residential Football Academy which is a joint initiative of @BBFSchools & @TheDFOfficial together with football legend @bhaichung15, officials of Dream Foundation & SAI at SAI Training Centre, NEHU today @ianuragthakur @BBFSchools @IndiaSports @saimedia,” tweeted Meghalaya CM.

Media reports stated that the collective venture, that has trained six footballers from Meghalaya, who have played in the Indian League, is growing from nurturing six footballers to over 50 from across the North East today.

The ex-Captain Baichung Bhutia stated while talking to the media that the state had a lot of talent in football to produce national and international talent.

But, he also acknowledged the fact that the need of the hour was to nurture young talent directly at the grassroots level.
