GUWAHATI: A series of coordinated operations by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police, supported by other security forces, have resulted in the recovery of a cache of weapons, ammunition, and warlike stores across several districts in Manipur. The operations, conducted between January 26 and 30, targeted various locations based on specific intelligence inputs.

On Republic Day, January 26, a joint operation in the General area Nepali Basti, Veitum Khullen-Khoken village Road in Kangpokpi district led to the recovery of a 5.56 mm rifle, a 7.62 mm rifle, a modified .303 sniper rifle, a .22 pistol, a single-barrel rifle, two improvised mortars, grenades, ammunition, and other war-related materials. Simultaneously, in Waithou, Thoubal district, a member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) was apprehended and ammunition was recovered.
A further success came on January 28 in Churachandpur district, where a joint operation with the CRPF and Manipur Police recovered six long-range rockets (5-6 feet in length), a launcher stand, a country-made mortar, ammunition, and other warlike stores.
The series of recoveries concluded on January 30 in Kakching district, with the seizure of a 9mm rifle, a 9mm pistol, grenades, ammunition, and additional warlike stores. All apprehended individuals and recovered materials have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation.
