Ratan Tata Conferred Assam's Highest Civilian Award

 

GUWAHATI: Eminent industrialist and Tata Trust Chairman Ratan Naval Tata was conferred with the State's highest civilian award, 'Assam Baibhav', by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday, February 16. 

Ratan Tata was honoured with the award for his exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam.

The Assam Baibhav award carries a citation, a medal and Rs 5 lakh.

CM Sarma shared this news on Twitter and wrote, "Had the privilege to honour @tatatrusts Chairman Shri Ratan Naval Tata with ‘Assam Baibhav’, our State’s highest civilian award,at Mumbai today. The visionary industrialist & philanthropist has made exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam. @RNTata2000."

Ratan Tata couldn't attend the official ceremony held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on January 24. He was personally conferred his award by the Assam CM on Wednesday at Taj Wellington Mews in Mumbai.
