Rajinikanth Hospitalised in Chennai, Cardiac Surgery Planned

 

GUWAHATI: Veteran actor and cinematic icon Rajinikanth has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after experiencing severe stomach discomfort.

According to reports, the 73-year-old superstar is set to undergo an elective cardiac procedure today, October 1.

Though his condition is currently stable, fans across the globe are anxiously awaiting official updates, with many taking to social media to send their prayers and best wishes to their beloved 'Thalaiva.' 

The actor, whose presence on screen has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema, will soon be seen in TJ Gnanavel's highly anticipated film Vettaiyan.

Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known as Rajinikanth, is an Indian actor mainly working in Tamil cinema. Born on December 12, 1950, he has acted in 170 films over five decades, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam movies. He is considered one of the most successful actors in Indian cinema.

The Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan in 2000, the Padma Vibhushan in 2016, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2019 for his contributions to cinema.
