GUWAHATI: Rajasthan Royals slid to the third spot in the IPL table after rain washed out their match against table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati, on May 19.
RR will now play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator game in the playoffs.KKR and SunRisers Hyderabad now occupy the top two position with the former leading.
There was some hope for the spectators packing the Barsapara Cricket Stadium when the two captains went out for the toss for a curtailed match. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl, but the rain returned to finally force an abandonment.
Guwahati’s trust with IPL will now have to wait till 2025, but hopefully, RR will play more matches in their second home.
